Is it possible to display navigation on the edge 530 when using it as a 2nd screen?

I have a Garmin Fenix 7 sports watch, which is my main device that I use for running, swimming and cycling. On my bike I have a Edge 530 which can be used as a 2nd screen on the Fenix 7. However, when I'm cylcing a particular route, I can only see a map on my watch and not on the Edge. Did I set it up incorrectly or is it simply impossible?

  • I think it's not possible.
However question: both devices have Physio TrueUp, so they synchronise all activities, training loads, statistics, etc. between each other, so why you are using Fenix 7 for recording cycling activities?

I have 530 + FR945 and use 530 for cycling and 945 as daily watch for "health tracking" and record all other activities, running, swimming, hiking.

  • I assume you're referring to Extended Display mode. No, it doesn't allow for displaying maps and only supports data fields. You can just start a regular activity on the Edge 530 to see the map. Then when you're finished, discard that activity and save the activity on your Fenix 7 so that you don't end up with duplicates.
