It seems like Climbpro 2.0 is just mapping data according to here, will Garmin give older devices the feature eventually? Will the 530 and other 30 series devices get any more software updates? Even the 1030 plus isn't super old.

Connection to the phone is basic feature of Edge units to use functionalities like LiveTracking or synchronisation of activities, routes, segments, etc. If you don't use them it doesn't mean that others…
I'm afraid that this will be close to end of updates and support.
This way sensors dropouts issue will be never fixed.
I do have the dropouts, but stopped to care about it. Annoying, but since they are only missing seconds, it's ok.
I read somewhere that the sensor issues of the 530 are because of the hardware that is used for the connectivity. There will never be a definitive patch for this.
This is my suspicion too, with a specific revision of a component. This would explain why some folks experience disconnects on a regular/disruptive basis when for others (me included) it is rare.
I can't say I experience regular dropouts either.

I don't get any dropouts... as long as I ride without bluetooth (not connected to my phone).

Regarding sensor dropouts and ANT+/BLE connection stability:
I managed to borrow 530 from my friend to make benchmark and testing against my 530 unit with constant dropouts issues on any firmware up to now starting from 9.10 which was installed on unit I bought.
I assume that my unit was manufactured later (SN: 5VW36xxxx) than borrowed unit (SN: 5VW31xxxx).
Results are interesting: same sensors connected, same setup, same firmware, same rides resulted with ZERO(!!!) power dropouts and sensors disconnections on my friend's 530 unit while I hade numerous disconnections and power dropouts on my unit.
NO ISSUES AT ALL !
I've tested one HRM Garmin strap, 2 powermeters (Garmin and 4iiii) and 2 speed sensors (Garmin and Magene). That leads my suspicion that's definitely hardware/ chipset issues rather than software related.
Interesting test Mine is an earlier one too (5VW020940) which is consistent with your findings as I have barely seen a single dropout in 3 1/2 years. And I have lots of different sensors across multiple bikes. If it were software, everyone would be seeing the issues. Pain in the neck for those who are affected!
Yes, first ride (December 2021 when I bought 530 to replace 520) was already huge disappointment, especially when I checked power, TSS, etc. after a ride. Then I started recording same rides on 530 and 520/945 and noticed huge misalignments in power recording due to dropouts on 530.
