I have found that since I got a 530, what I found in Garmin Connect is if the elevation graph is based on being displayed on Time, it will be portrayed as very gently sloping upwards and steep on the descent, but if you display the elevation based on distance travelled, the elevation, slopes and descents will portray correctly. I never really look at it in the 530 to know if it is displayed correctly, it is only on downloads do I see it
