Sending gpx file without internet access ?

Edge 530 has wifi and bluetooth. Will it ever be possible to send a gpx file to a device without having to log in to the Garmin Connect app? What to do when we are in a place where there is no mobile network coverage and we want to send a gpx file prepared in an application with offline maps? Buy paper maps and compass ? I understand that Edge is still a tourist navigation and not a gadget for urban riders?

I you are using a computer, not a smartphone, simply connect your Edge 530 to the computer with a USB cable; the 530 will appear among the avaialbel disk units (often it will also automatically open up); now it is as simple as copying your GPX file to the "New files" folder of your Edge 530. After disconnecting, you will find your new GPX file in the "Courses" menu.

So I understand that in the forest you have a computer in your backpack?

For the App u need a smartphone only, connected via BT and the widget / app

does not work on the latest firmware. you must be logged in to Garmin Connect to send gpx. did you check sending with cellular data turned off?

Oh, sorry. Didn't know about the issue. I import via Komoot. It works great and the hole planned routes and track are easy managed, organized, shared and can downloaden to the garmin for use without net coverage (automatik all or selected) . Because of the need of internet access for the download of the gpx file first to the Smartphone, to send it via bt to the Edge, I personally see no advantage any more of using this app
