The million dollar question...

...does 9.75 do anything for sensor data dropouts?

My guess is no. Might try it because I still have 9.10 I can revert to. Man I can't wait to see what the 540 is like but this ongoing 530 crap has really killed my love for all things Garmin.

  • I also lost confidence in Garmin especially after wasting so much time reporting those bugs.

  • There is still a loss of signal from the sensors, I was in version 9.10 and I updated, but I do not recommend it, version 9.10 works very well.

  • I hesitate to update only the maps but I think that everything will get updated through Garmin express. There was some way to save the config data so I could do a downgrade after that and don't loose settings. But on the other hand Komoot or trailforks might stop working.

  • Unfortunately, that's why I updated, for installing komoot.

  • do nor update.. my 530 has been replaced back in November because of the dropouts which fixed the issue temporarly.. i was pretty happy with the new device until 9.75.. Again dropouts, multiple during rides. It's pretty "funny" that 530 is dropping only the garmin sensors.. Like Speed2, HRM dual and Varia on ant+.. I have no issues with my Favero Assioma duo in the meantime.. I think i will try to request Garmin to replace my new device.. This is super annoying..

  • I'll stick with 9.10. The hardware doesn't seem to be a problem on this version. I keep it backed up on Dropbox, glad I did since it doesn't seem to be available as a fallback with the beta downloads like before.

  • Does anyone have a link to a place where I can download different, previous firmware versions?

Now I'm on the latest BETA release, going through all releases since 9.10 originally installed on device. All the time with connection and data recording issues for all 3 different powermeters I use. Really frustrating for me, e.g. TSS from last Saturday race recorded on 530 was 161, while on properly recording FR945 it was 184.

I wan't to give my 530 last chance, trying something older than 9.10 firmware. If not working properly, I will return it to store where I bought. Makes no sense to wait any longer for Garmin to fix this issue.

  • You had trouble with 9.10? That's the newest version I've used without failures. I do have it saved to Dropbox but was reluctant to post it here- wasn't sure what Garmin's rules are regarding that. If it'll help I'll throw the link in here though.

  • Yes, I get my 530 already with 9.10 firmware and I noticed power recording dropouts immediately from first use.

Then I had extensive exchange with support, providing different .fit files for analysis but their final statement was that problem is identified, solution date is unknown. It was spring 2022. I've lost my patience...

  • Same with me, I wasted a lot of time providing bug reports and got nothing out of it.
