New Edge 530 SW 9.50 Sensor Drop that I didn't had with Edge 130

Hello,

Bought a new 530 that came with SW 9.40 and after started and connected to Garmin Connect it automatically upgraded to SW 9.50.

I can see a lot of drops for the Garmin HR sensor in the Heart Rate Graphic and even more in the Respiration Rate Graphic. Some times I got a alert that the HRM was doping.

It was worst with MTB then in the Road bike or the trainner

MTB -> Phone Connected + Garmin HRM DUAL, I was mainly in the Map Screen

Road -> Phone Connected + Garmin HRM DUAL + Stages left crank power meter and cadence + Varia 515 + Live Track ON + Navigating doing a saved course but always in the "Sensor" Screen

Trainer -> Garmin HRM DUAL + TACX VORTEX + old ANT Speed and Cadence Garmin sensor

I didn't had this drop problems with a Edge 130 using the same sensors in any of the riding/training scenarios.

For what I've learn browsing this forum, this is a SW problem (I hope).

What is the best SW version to be on that doesn't have this issues? 9.10? where can I get it?

Please, guys from Garmin can you tell us if you know of this problem and if a solution is coming?

Welcome to the club. It's a problem that's persisted for a lot of us for the last several updates. I accidentally hit OK on the update to 9.50 before tonight's ride, and sure enough, I had sensor dropouts…

PS: the Garmin Dual HRM is on SW 2.5, updated by the Edge 530 and connected via ANT+.

Welcome to the club. It's a problem that's persisted for a lot of us for the last several updates. I accidentally hit OK on the update to 9.50 before tonight's ride, and sure enough, I had sensor dropouts the whole time. Came back to refresh my memory on rolling back to 9.10, which was the last somewhat stable version (for me at least). Only occasional dropouts instead of multiple per hour.

Olá,

I the mean time Garmin as entered in contact with me so I can send them a ANT+ Log for a new ride. As for all the other rides I had some drops in the HRM Sensor and some strange things in the Cadence.

This was a trainer activity, which is a very good test because it doesn't have big changes in HR, Cadence, Speed or Power and is easy to spot the drops.

Lets see what they can find and I hope it helps to solve the sensor drop for all of us.

I had the same happen, emailed the diagnostic file back and never heard anything again. I hope it's something that can be fixed.

9.73 is still garage. Great. Just had my first hr dropout.
