My Garmin 530 just arrived but I am unable to use due to large flashing blue arrow across the entire screen. I have read another thread explaining that the flashing blue arrow is a warning that I need to start the timer or something to that effect.
Unfortunately I was of the opinion that I could use the GPS function without having to record a trip. At any rate the lower right button [that others claim is the start button] does not start anything for me.
When I press the lower right button whilst in my Bike Profile Mode / GPS Mode OR Bike Profile Mode / Info Display ... all that button does is take me back to the Front Intro Screen with the Icon of the Bike with the option to start all over again.
Could someone please explain what I have to enable the timer? It seems there is some special sequence of button pushing and must be in some mode ... the manual does not cover great big flashing blue arrow that I have read. Others have also claimed they have been unable to find a solution in the manual re the issue either.
Would really appreciate a break down in layman terms on how to do each of the steps to enable my timer as this flashing icon would wish me to do.
Personally I don't want to have to record every time I jump on the bike to use the GPS map like I do in a car. Is there no way to do that?
