Bugs Version 9.5

Hi,

since I updated to version 9.5 I have found some bugs:

* Wrong time and % in each HR zone. All zones are correctly set, and in activities the pulse stays above the start of zone 1 for much longer than the graph shows. In short, data is missing or the calculation is wrong.... This issue has happened in the past and I have a case open but no response from Garmin after several months. Some examples:

https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/9555737707 140' of activity with only minutes below zone 1. However, the total time on the zone chart barely adds up to 50'.

https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/9533133735 227' of activity with only minutes below zone 1. However, the total time on the zone chart barely adds up to 60'

* The acute training load between my Garmin Edge 530 and my Fenix 6 PRO no longer match. Same activities and individual load listed on one device and the other from the Garmin Connect upload page (so they should add up to the same), but the acute loads shown are different on each device. 470 in Fenix 6 PRO and 645 in Edge 530 (both devices sync several times at simultaneously).

Cheers

  • Acute training load from Fenix does not seem to match the old calculations. I had been assuming it would all sync up properly but I am not sure still how it works. They do seem converge to the same load over a few days but its hard to tell, might just be coincidence. e.g. today my edge and Fenix were almost in agreement (Edge 161, Fenix 160) I did a ride on the edge with load 122 and the edge updated training load to 283 as expected, but the Fenix went to 315... Makes no sense to me. Hopefully garmin will update the metrics help pages to explain what is supposed to happen. Hard to know if its a bug or expected behaviour. But I would hope they didn't intentionally make it so the edge and Fenix devices stop agreeing with each other (!)

  • yes, I agree with you, I wish we could get some clarification on this issue.

In any case, the issue regarding the time graph by HC zones is more worrying and annoying and I do understand that it is a clear SW issue that needs to be solved as soon as possible:

  • Have any of you experienced the same problem??

  • Hello,
I don't have this problem with heart rate, however since I use v.9.5 the sensors are disconnecting more frequently.
It happened even before but on a 3-hour run it happened occasionally with some sensors .... now instead it loses them all in an instant for several times during the race and it also happened that the device restarted by itself.
This sensor issue appears to be Garmin's chronic.

  • I'm also seeing lots of sensor disconnects with the 9.5 firmware version. Previous versions do not present this issue.

  • I don't have sensor uses with 9.5, but the 530 now restarts spontaneously during rides if I don't do the 10sec+ power button reset.

Reverting to 9.10 has helped, but I think 9.5 did something permanent to my 530.

  • I'm wondering if this could be tied to using BTLE vs. ANT+ connections. I recently added new Favero Assioma Uno pedals and they are connected through BTLE and not ANT+. I'll try switching them to ANT+ and see if it helps at all.
