"200 course point max exceeded"

I've just created a 266 mile route in RWGPS, and uploaded it as a .fit file into my 530. When i load it, it says "200 course point max exceeded. Final 87 points will not be shown".

What does this actually mean in real life when navigating?

The course points are the cue sheet entries in RwGPS. If you have course points turned on for the route the last 87 won't pop up. If you use the turn guidance on the Garmin (have the Garmin generate the navigation cues) then that will work as normal as that has nothing to do with course points.
