Graphical Heart Rate Data Field (Bars)

I'm using the Graphical Heart Rate Data Field showing Bars. Everything works fine. There are 2 black dots that travel back and forth along the top of the bar graph and I'm not sure what they are telling me.

They show the points of the highest and lowest values in the reported time period.
