There appear to be 3 versions of maps installed in my ProgramData folder -- Map.Map.Cyclemapna.2021.10, 2021.20, and 2022.10. Can I delete the first two and just keep the third one? I use/need the mapping function, so I don't want to cause maps to fail

There appear to be 3 versions of maps installed in my ProgramData folder -- Map.Map.Cyclemapna.2021.10, Map.Map.Cyclemapna.2021.20, and Map.Map.Cyclemapna.2022.10.

Can I delete the first two and just keep the third one?

I use/need the mapping function, so I don't want to cause maps to fail.

  • This is your pc. How would deleting files on your pc stop mappijg on the garmin device?

Those are the map files downloaded for garmin map update

  • Would you be able to post a picture of where you are seeing these map files so I can take a look at this?

What would you ultimately like to accomplish? If I have a better understanding of this I can make sure that we can best assist you.

In general, the best way to keep your maps up to date and make sure your Edge has the latest ones installed on it is to sync your device with Garmin Express on your computer and install any maps that you see available.

  • I'm trying to free up hard drive space on my PC. If I'm correct, it looks like there are 3 versions of maps on my hard drive, each of which is taking up approximately 8GB. I don't want to delete something that would cause Garmin Express to fail the next time I plug my 530 in and perhaps cause an error in the maps on my 530 the next time I try to use navigation. Please see the attached file structure screenshot. I'd also like to have Garmin Connect store everything on my D: drive instead of the C: drive.  My C: drive is an SSD with limited space, the D; drive is a disk drive and 1TB. What steps would be required to have Express use the D: drive?

  • those are updates to your garmin express installation and past map updates. none of those files are needed to have navigation on the device. you should delete all of them if you have limited space.

  • the default directory is not able to be changed from your C: drive and I wouldn't recommend deleting files from these folders.

If you are unable to manage other (non-Garmin) files on your computer and need to manage these, it would be best to fully uninstall the application, delete any remaining files that might be on your computer and then you can reinstall the application. You can use the link below for steps to fully uninstall Express.
