Adding Garmin US map to European Edge 530

I have the European maps on my Edge 530 but I am travelling to the US so I need the US maps installed. I have the Garmin US map on SD card but the Edge 530 does not have card slot. How do I add the US map (I don't want to lose the Europe maps as I need them for when I return)?

Will not work. Usb maps only work on usb slot units. You need to buy the download map https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/169655/pn/010-D1555-01

Go to https://extract.bbbike.org/ and download maps of the area you will be visiting. Make sure you choose a latin1 Garmin format.

Copy the resultant map file onto your Garmin. Activate the map so you can see it. Done.

If you need more space on the Garmin move the EU map files onto a computer. Put them back when get home.
