Edge 530 won't connect to HRM; neither Garmin dual nor Polar H7

My new edge 530 won't connect to my HRM - both Garmin dual (ant+ & bluetooth) & Polar H7 (Bluetooth smart). In setup, I can see and choose both HRMs. But then it stalls. It never completes the process and connects to the HRM.

Anybody knows what to do? The software is version 9.40

5447938 After the Edge locates the sensors, you will want to select the sensor you wish to add and when there is a checkmark in that box you'll select "Add Sensor" to add it to the Edge.

Hi Garmin- Eric. I checkmarked the box - both with the Garmin HRM and the Polar HRM. Tried repeatedly to no avail. Both sensors connect fine with my iPhone 12 mini on the Strava app.
