Odd files in new files folder

Hey All

Long time Edge user here....been noticing over last couple months some odd small files appearing in my Edge 530 new files folder.

And today there was this group. Other times there are several 1KB files.

I usually just delete them.

Anyone know what's going on?

When you see these have you just synced using Garmin Express? If so they are probably data Garmin is putting on your unit from Connect.

I have seen such files when syncing.

If you unplug the unit and let it boot then plug it back in and don't have Garmin Express launch the NewFiles folder should be empty. Does that happen?

Including Courses you have "selected" to transmit to the 530 via the "Send to device" options, "starred" courses / segments from 3rd party sites you have setup to sync via Garmin Connect and GPS Satellite position data for the next few days / week that allows a rapid finding of satellites, your "power curve" and other performance data processed by GC when you upload activities all of which sync via PC Garmin Express, Garmin Connect Mobile, BT or Wi-Fi syncing. And anything else the aliens want to use to control you via the Garmin devices to make you follow various pathways they choose.
