Edge 530, how to factory reset via pc/mac

My edge 530 is stuck in factory mode after an automatic software update.

I would want to factory reset the device via garmin express as it still recognizes the device when plugged in via usb.

(the device does not pop up in garmin connect or finder)

Does anyone know how to do this?

If a software problem is the cause, a long press (10 sec or so) of the power button should force a reset.
