GARMIN SUCKS - Ignoring customers and their needs completely!!!

Where is default bike setting for each bike activity? ? ? ?  Where it IS? For Crist sakes.
and that is obvious one..

  • If you mean selecting a specific bike for an activity then you do not need to do so, just select the activity and ride your bike.  If you mean something different then post more details and I am sure someone here will try to help.

  • No listening to users - No development - No help - and I think, which is the worst - even NO hope, that this will change anytime soon or ever.

I´m so angry I bought Garmin products. I was thinking that the high price and so many users is "guarantee" that it is good.
It really isn´t. The only good is runtime per one charge and readability on direct sunlight.

    Navigation - Sucks: BIG TIME!
I was riding course yesterday. There was some road works ongoing on the planned route with really quick detour.
After one kilometer I was back on the planned route and the GARMIN "NAVIGATION" was annoyingly showing MAKE A U TURN-- maybe for two minutes of riding on the planned route in right direction. Oh my gosh.
And then even it pointed me in the wrong direction and started to showing Finish line flag with meters count down. LOL.
I just had to stop, open Garmin Connect app, look at the planned course( where you don´t see your location! 2nd LOL) so I had to open another map app to check where am I exactly and compare that with the course. Impossible.
I bought Edge 530 to get rid of the phone while riding.
I bought Fenix 6  for that reason at first, but it was small and looking at it while riding was not convenient.
Rerouting is setup to minimize distance. It is not minimizing distance at all because of rerouting in nonsense ways.

Secondly: Default gear for activity. I ride bikes. I have three different bikes. Some time- not that long ago Garmin added a lot of bike activities.  I was thrilled about it! -- few minutes.
Then I realized that I cannot simply set one bike for Gravel Bike activity, second for Bike, third for MTB.
It is not possible to do.

It is quite funny how absurdly the Connect app is programmed.

And this is what makes it most clear that Garmin does not take the job seriously. It almost seems they´re making fun of its users for big money.

    Come on, lough with me:
Go to Connect app -> Gear -> Bikes -> add some bike(s) -> edit bike -> and there is Automatically add to.. :
Running :D :D :D  ..ehm ok.. skip that,
    oh, Cycling. . thats better
    so select that.
There is no popup menu to let you select bike activity more specific - Gravel - MTB - Bike Tour , Bike.. whatever bike activities are possible to track.
Ok, what we have next, Hiking, Swimming, Walking... Other? Hmm. That looks promisingly.
So select that - and it is the same story. No more settings possible to do.

    So what you can do?
You can set up bike you ride the most for as default for all cycling activities.
And if you happen to ride other bike<you just have to switch it afterwards after saving the activity.

And there is another chance to lough a bit:
Go to recorded activity -> tap the three vertical dots in right upper corner (android) -> add or remove gear -> I have just three bikes, no shoes, no nothing.. And I CAN select ALL of IT :D Nice touch, Garmin. Show me how to ride two bikes at one time.

    There is no help.

  • And there is more of course.. I decided to ride the course in opposite direction.. There is no possibility to do that on Edge 530. On Fenix 6, yes.. in course setting menu.
Somebody could think, that this could be managed automatically --  if you turn around and ride the course in opposite direction - "navigation" device could tell you: Wrong direction, worng direction: Do you want to switch direction? Yes - No

Simple as that. For Garmin.. nah.

  • Garmin even do not reply to any of one star reviews in app store. They simply do NOT CARE.

  • But have you really wasted time writing all this nonsense? But are you really so frustrated that you don't go out on your bike or run and throw up all your ravings on this forum? Please, sell everything, sell your Garmin devices, your bikes and your running shoes and go on an "all inclusive" vacation so you don't have to worry about how to use Garmin devices and, importantly, to play sports ... Which is not for you!
