is there a heart rate gauge on the edge 530

Hi everyone.

when i first got my Garmin edge 530 i remember having the heart rate gauge as an option on the screen when out for my rides. i disabled it before the last update and now i cant find it.

my question is:

did it ever have a heart rate gauge like what the watches have? (if it didn't then i am remembering it wrong)

if so was it removed on the last update?

i want to see what zone i am in when i ride as i am trying low heart rate training. it would be really handy to have that gauge on the screen when i ride.

any information would be helpful.

Try adding the 'Visual HR Zones' data field from the Garmin Connect IQ store - I've been using it on my 530 for a while now and find it pretty good for monitoring heart rate. I agree, there…

I suggest reviewing the 530 manual on how to add a data field.

As cheracogoff said... Just learn how to add/remove or customize data fields. You can have a separate page/screen with HR info only if you want. I have one that shows HR, avg HR and Zone 2,2,4 & 5. You can even add a graphical field if you like.

I agree, there was a display field in earlier release versions of the 530 software, but it disappeared and I gave up looking for it. Not sure why - my vivoactive watch has it, so can't see the point of not having it on the 530.

I will try that. I thought it was there. It's a shame you can't down grade the firmware.

There was and still are several native heart rate-related data fields. Go into your datafield setup and select the category "Heart Rate" and you'll find heart rate, average heart rate, lap heart rate, etc... I'm not sure how this is firmware related or maybe I have misunderstood the question?

If you disabled your sensor, you can re-enable via menu -> settings -> sensors
