Edge 530 not recognized by Garmin Express

Hi,

My Garmin Express is version 7.12.1.0 on my laptop, and my Edge 530 is version 9.4. However, I am not able to add my Edge to Garmin Express. Please advise what may be the cause.

Try a different USB cable. Some are power only, while others are power AND data. It will only recognize the Edge if you are using a power+data cable. The original cable supplied with the Edge should work.

Your computer should recognise the edge as a hard drive type device. In windows explorer this would show like a USB drive. If this is not the case for you, then the cable would also be my first thought. The vast majority of charging cables do not support data. If it is not the cable, then there is a way of forcing mass storage mode. Manual link here:

Yes, I got it working now with a data/power usb-c cable. All is well.
