I attempted to update my Garmin map on my 530 last weekend. I am in Europe and plugged the unit into my computer and Garmin express said there Was a map update. I said yes and it downloaded the map and started to install it. it then froze at 50% I left it for a few hours but no joy. in the end I closed express down and unplugged edge. restarted and now when plugged into Garmin express it says there is no map update. I fact the map is gone both from the unit and express. I am now left with only the baseman on the Garmin and now obvious way to reinstall it.
I have contacted Garmin but so far getting generic response - just though I would post here in case anyone has a solution. i suspect I willl need to get the map file of Garmin to reinstall or I wonder if Garmin could reset something at their end to make express offer me the map update.
