Edge 530 9.40 sensor connectivity problems

Since the update I've been having trouble with my sensor (Polar H9 HRM), it randomly disconnects and drops then reconnects.
First thought it might be due to a battery change so I've done this to exclude other problems:

- tried a third new battery: problems still arise
- cleaned the strap: problems still arise
- disconnected the sensor and added it again: problems still arise
- used the polar app to exclude strap/sensor problems: heartrate is measured correctly there.

So in all likelyhood (and seeing others with this problem too) something in the last update has gone wrong. Please look into this and correct it asap!

Thanks!

  • To keep pressure on garmin you need to submit a ticket and not take a fob-off response. They are aware of the problem and have been working on it for several months. I personally couldn't believe that they persevered with fixing the latest FW rather than rolling back to a previous version that did not have this issue. I sold my 830 and would be very hesitant to go back to garmin, having had several units over a few years.

  • I would waste time on submitting a ticked. I just did it and basically they told me there are aware of the problem but buy a new compatible sensor/device.

I think the only solution is to revert back to FW 9.10 it can be downloaded form Garmins page it's boundled with beta version.
