How to get a Garmin map on to my edge 530?

I have an organized ride coming up in a few weeks.  Maps of the routes were recently released.

https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/101342070

My last organized ride was my first one, and I manually made a map turn by turn, but it takes a long time when it is a hundred miles, and I made some small errors, which wasn't helpful.

This map looks like it is already in the connect format.  Is there a way to transfer this to my edge 530?  It looks to even have the stops marked.  Last event I didn't have these, and missed a stop.  Bad idea when it's 90+ outside and windy.

Thanks!

  • You can click on the three horizontal dots below the elevation graph and download the course in FIT format.  Copy that FIT file to your Garmin.  Put it in the \Garmin\NewFiles folder.  When you unplug your Garmin you will see the course in the list of saved courses.

Or you can click on the send to device button and connect your Garmin to the computer and start Garmin Express.  Then the course should be sent to your Garmin and you should see it in the list of saved courses when you unplug it after it has synced.

  • It's a "route" or a "course" (not a "map").
