Edge 530 recently paired with cadence and speed sensors now repeatedly autopauses every few seconds of riding.

I bought an Edge 530 about 2 years ago and only just two days ago tried adding the cadence and speed sensors. They seemed to pair ok, but now when I start a new ride, the unit repeatedly autopauses - every few seconds of riding. It goes back and forth between being paused and recording many times, and many minutes of my ride aren't recorded as it is paused. Today, it recorded less than 30% of my ride. Any clues as to what is going on here? Ready to toss the speed and cadence sensors!

Have you tried turning off auto pause to see how it does? GC and Strava will both still show the moving average speed and moving time even without auto pause. At least just as a test.

The speed sensor is not working properly or has a failing battery.

Also make sure all the sensors are only connected via ANT+. My HRM2 accidentally got connected to my 130 with both Bluetooth and ANT+ and acted wonky until I deleted the Bluetooth connection. Look under sensors and make sure all are only in there once as ANT+.

@Wongataa I put a new battery in the speed sensor since it had been sitting uninstalled for 2 years. Maybe I need to try ANOTHER new battery, although the sensor does seem to 'wake' up and flash green when I spin the wheel.

Cranky K. OK, I'll try that. I should look for this from the 530 head unit? (and no, haven't tried turning of the autopause yet. I prefer having that on, but I could just test it)

Yes, look in the list of sensors in the 530 settings menu. Each one should only be listed once and the preferred connection is ANT+
