Auto Zoom not Working

When not folowing a route the auto zoom is not working!!! My default zoom is 50mts if i zoom out to 3km when stoped after i start moving the zoom level stays at 3km!! Is this normal? In the user manual:

Auto Zoom: Automatically selects a zoom level for the map. When Off is selected, you must zoom in or out manually.

When i stop, i set the zoom level to 3km, then when moving the zoom could change from 3km to other zoom level because my speed was varianting, that did not append.
