Strava Live Segment Losing Goal

I have a Strava segment where I have set a a goal time in Strava.  The goal does not appear on the Edge 530, just other times like PR, Rivals, KOM etc.

I delete the segment from the Garmin, and unstar the segment in Strava.  The I reselect the segment, sync to my Garmin, the goal time reappears.  But the next day I see the Goal time has disappeared from the leaderboard again.

Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?

    check https://www.doogal.co.uk/strava.php they create a segment fit file with goals.

    strava segments are not Live, your fit file is download via phone, in some cases they are download prior to arriving to start location like popular segments(that is the live bit).

    you can also backup the copy of the segment that works and replace it in segments folder on your headunit and have garmin.express on the computer closed if your also using that method.

    I'm not sure what to do with this.

    Can this be used to create the goal that I want on my Edge 530?

    If it is, I appreciate the information, but Garmin should be taking care of this. I don't much care if Garmin blames Strava or Strava blamed Garmin.

    Bottom line is on my 530 I have an unreliable, at time non-functional feature that works fine on my FR935.

    you can create the goal, on the page enter the segment ID number to navigate the segment, then enter your goal (optional settings you have up to 3) . for example Alpe D'Huez in France segment https://www.doogal.co.uk/StravaSegment.php?id=661401 

    Add optional goal - hr  - min - sec - Name

    Add optional rival PR   - hr - min - sec - Name
    Add optional challenger PR  - hr - min - sec - Name
     
    then you download your fit file and browse to your edge530 (usb drive) and go to Garmim \ NewFiles folder.
    when you restart your garmin530  the system will move the file and update the segment list on the edge530
    I believe what happens with strava & garmin is this method:
    when you have starred a segment the segment gets replicated on the garmin site as a "garmin segment" and gets updated whilst its still starred, from the garmin site the segment gets updated back to your edge530

    My edge530 works fine me as I know how it works I have a number of connectIQ displays, connecting to power/HR CDA(aerodynamic drag) and I have Fenix6pro.

    Will this method override what GC does when my 530 synchs?

    It'll be a nuisance to do this to all of the segments that I really care about but if it works that's great.

    Is there a way to get rid of the "PR Finished" banner that flashes across the top?
