"Set a Target"-----Bugged?

For the past two weeks I have been using the feature under "Training", "Set a Target" to do some low heart rate steady training and it appears to have a bug in it.

My procedure is to:-

1. Open up "Set a Target"
2. Select "Distance and Speed"

3. Enter "Custom"
4. Select "Miles"
5. Enter the distance I want to ride
8. Enter the speed that I want to ride at.
9. Select "Accept" (There is a discrepancy in the manual, I am supposed to click a "Tick Mark" but one does not appear, just "Accept" which does not get mentioned in the manual. An update at some point which never appeared in the manual?

10. This will then give me a data page with. "Dist Remaining", "Est Finish" and "Avg Speed".

11. I then press "Start" and set off.

But what I find when I am riding is, the "Dist Remaining" and "Avg speed" will update, but "Est Finish" does not.

Today, I did a 40 mile ride with a planned speed of 15mph which should take about 2hrs 40mins and set off at 08:36 and I kept an eye on it meticulously and took some screenshots.

About a minute into the ride, the calculations are reading wrong to start with and presume I will finish in almost 2hrs which would be based on a 20mph avg? Perhaps it was out with just setting off and a lot of varying speeds at the time!

42 minutes into the ride when things may have stabilised and things are not right with "Est Finish". It seems to be giving an "Est Finish" based on me still having to ride 40 miles in 2hrs 40 mins with a start time of 09:17.

Likewise with the same mileage as my avg speed almost, 2hrs 38mins to ride. But on my other screen, it says I have only 1 hour 6 mins to ride to the destination

Same again, with half the distance of the avg speed to ride:-

And with just 1 mile to ride, 2hrs 39 min to ride, but the other page states 4mins 33 secs to ride.

And at the end of the ride when I hit 40 miles the following flashes up, which means the "Set a Target" is working, but, the "Est Finish" is not working and is based on me still having to ride 40 miles at 15mph, 2 hours 40mins?

This behaviour of the "Est Finish" has been the same on every ride that I have done which leads me to presume it is a bug, and if it is not a bug, what is the point of having a data field telling you what time you will finish your ride based on what time it is at present and if you was to start riding then?

Today I thought I would do a ride without following a course to ensure that it was nothing related that is affecting "Arrival Time in "Set a Target. Started at 09:15 to do a 68.5 mile ride with a target speed of 15mph. Calculated time was 04hrs 34mins. (Did not realise how strong the wind was)

Start Screen before the wheels start turning, the "Est Time" is close to what it should be:-

Time 09:45, with 60 miles remaining, it should take 03hrs:52mins to finish, "Est Finish" is correct.

At 10:43, Things are still correct:-

But at 11:08 with 40 miles remaining, things are not right, based on 15mph, it should take 2hrs 40 mins and "est finish" should be 13hrs 48min So whatever happened to corrupt the "Est Finish, happened between 23 - 28 miles, and I cannot see anything unusual I did during the ride:-

Way out by about 4 hours and supposed to be finished in just over an hourt!!!

The last mile and almost finished, still way out:-

And at the finish once again I get the "Target Complete", the 530 knows I am 13mins 5secs behind but the "Est Finish is over 5 hours out!!!!!

Due to the lack of response, I have to presume that nobody uses "Set a Target". So is this a bug the 530 has had since its launch, and could it be connected as to why at times the "ETA" on a course can be way out and also the VP to be way out at times. Perhaps who ever programmed the "Time and Distance" calculations did not fit enough beads on the 530's Abacus to do basic maths correctly?
