WiFi won't stay turned off

Not the end of the world but is anyone else finding that their wifi keeps turning on?

I have mine turned off because when i press stop/save i'm on the edge of my house wifi and it doesn't always upload properly. As i'm connected to my phone i just use my phone 4G data connection.

I keep turning the wifi off in "connected features" only to find when my ride hasn't uploaded the wifi on the unit is back on. Its always on the same profile, so that isn't the cause.

I'm 99% sure that i'm going to leave garmin in the new year and buy a wahoo. I like many of garmins features and their fitness analysis, but i'd be happier with a unit that did less and did it well. The sensor drop issue still unresolved after 6 months has done it for me.

  • Do you have "Auto Upload" Enabled (within the Wi-Fi settings, read somewhere (probably this forum) that if so it can turn Wi-Fi on (and off?):

  • Thanks. I double checked and auto upload was disabled already.

  • To stop this happening you need to reset your unit and never connect it to Wi-Fi and don't link it to a new install of Garmin Express (that will try and set up Wi-Fi on it and start it happening again).

I don't now if connecting the unit to a phone via BT will also trigger the Wi-Fi bug as I don't have mine paired.

This is a mildly annoying bug and I have reported it in the past.
