Strange "Alert" message, never seen before.

Whilst riding on Saturday, a strange "Alert" message appeared at the bottom of the screen that I have never seen before, white text on a black background:-

It consisted of the warning triangle with an exclamation mark inside it, followed by the text "1234567890".

The only alert I have enabled is heart rate too high and at the time my heart rate was low, so no chance of that being corrupted.

The only sensors connected are cadence and speed along with the "Garmin Remote".

I have looked at the list of events and nothing is showing for that point in time

This is with the Version 9 update.

It happened whilst on the "Climbpro" screen, and sadly as I was climbing, I could not get my hand off the bars quick enough without unbalancing to get a screenshot.

  • That option has vanished, "Upload" does not exist in that space between "File/URL and "Dimensions".  I know about it, otherwise, I would not have been able to have posted an image of the "alert" message earlier.

But, I have seen this before and sometimes it does appear if I keep clicking about in that menu box, but not this time or even after a reboot.

Is there a limitation on how many files you can upload in a day etc?

  • "Upload" does not exist

Understood, and I see this occasionally. Another option is to upload the file to a file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, etc. Make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post. Or reply to the private message as posted by aweatherall.

  • I am not sure whether I used Garmin Connect but if so, I must have deleted it. But, I have a feeling that I used Garmin Training Centre just to add the course points as it is easier and quicker to use and then uploaded it into Garmin Connect to look at and then deleted it.

But, a lot of my Courses are created in Garmin Mapsource which does not have course points and then they get uploaded to the Garmin, and every time I get a faster time on the course, I delete it and create a new course from the history and that then updates the VP for me to race against.

If I recall, this course has been updated about 3 times this way.

  • The mystery is solved. I have just recalled that I did some experimenting between Garmin Training Centre and Garmin Connect to see which is best for adding course points. At one point, I wanted to see which enabled me to have the most letters for naming a course point, Garmin Connect had 15 letters and Training centre 10 letters which after just picking a random course point icon and a random spot on a course in both programs, just typed "123456789012345" and "1234567890", 10 letters in Garmin Training Centre

And then I must have forgot to delete it and then uploaded the GTC one to my 530.

All I have to do now is confirm CP's showing on the map whilst riding.
