Notes:

  • For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
  • Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

Changes made from version 8.63 to 9.00:

  • Fixed Back to Start issue when selecting Most Direct Route

Changes made from version 8.20 to 8.63:

  • Fixed device-to-device transfers
  • Added new tone for radar that that plays when your radar transitions to the green threat level. Go to the radar settings in the sensors menu to enable this feature.
  • Improved bike light network connection stability
  • Improved course point display and added new types
  • Improved Course 'Always Show' functionality
  • Improved shifting sensor battery data fields
  • Improved Physio True-up data recording
  • Improved indoor trainer control
  • Improved sensor search flow
  • Fixed issue causing unnecessary sensor software update prompts
  • Fixed power calibration prompt when waking from sleep mode
  • Fixed history line color
  • Fixed issue with left/right power balance recording
  • Fixed issue with GPS not turning off in indoor mode
  • Fixed the power graph during workout steps with no power target
  • Fixed issue where on-device Training Plan would not allow riding one-step workouts
  • Fixed issues with CIQ data field alerts and widget pages
  • Improved general device stability
  • Does "Beta 9.00" (rather than another 8.XX) indicate this is pretty much the final for the next "public" release? Leaves most of the complained about recent and long term issues un-addressed along with some issues reported in the previous 8.63 beta, will give 9.00 beta a go to see if anything has changed.

  • Same error as in previous beta, training load does not sync to connect via wifi. It does not update correctly until the app is used.

  • Tried it Yesterday, no sensor drops in a 2 hours ride!
I like the new display of SRAM AXS batteries!

  • Great to hear that.

Just to be sure, did you install the previous beta 8.63 and did have drops there as we had?

  • Nah, I just tried 9.00!

  • "I like the new display of SRAM AXS batteries!" ...... Yes that's a nice feature, as the batteries in the shifters tend to go on forever, and you forget , that they may bee has to bee replaced at some time !  ( like the the guide on a recent trip to the Asturian mountains in Spain, who was caught by a "dead" shifting lever.... managed to swap battery from his power meter once the problem was pin pointet :-)  )

  • Still sensors drops for my Specialized Levo SL...

  • I'm on 8.63 beta, but have been having dropouts so therefore feeding debug files back in to Garmin.

I might try 9.00 beta, but I'm not buoyed with confidence on a magical fix, so will keep sending debug files to Garmin and then wait for feedback directly from them as to whether to bother upgrading, or hopefully that they find a bug and resolve it. I encourage others to do the same.

    Setting up debugging...

    • To enable ANT logging:
      1. Go to the Brightness page. (Select Menu > Settings > System > Display > Disable Auto Brightness > Select Brightness)
      2. Press-and-hold the Lap key until you are taken to another page.
      3. Select Diagnostics > ANT Logging > ANT RX TX.
    • Start the timer to begin recording.
    • The logs will be contained in the Garmin/Debugging folder.

Feedback reporting form is in the Beta.zip file. Send through to [email protected] with the debug files.

    • I am on Software 9.00 and still having dropouts. The only way to stop this failure is to cancel the Bluetooth connection to the Smartphone. Then everything works fine. SunglassesRaised hands
