GPS Location Problems - Can't find a satellite, wrong gps location if one is found

I started to have an issue where I can not get a signal on any satellite regardless of gps method selected. Tried syncing, updating the maps through garmin express, factory resetting, manual install of gps metadata to no avail.

When it finds a signal, it shows that I'm moving a a speed of 50 km/h, approx. 500 km's away from my current location. I tried to record it and the gps location seems to just drawing donuts on the map. GPS chipset is 4.80, firmware is 8.20, this started after an update last week.

I'm at a loss as what to do at this point.

Anyone experience similar issues?

  •  It sounds like you may need to reach out to your local support team to see what options may be available for you. Some speed being recorded while stationary can happen depending on signal strength, but 50 KPH is far above the threshold of what would be considered normal without a speed sensor being the cause.

  • By local support team, do you mean an official technical service center? Should I contact the dealer I bought the item from?

  • This may vary depending on your location, but we try to have Garmin Support available in as many countries as possible. If you visit support.garmin.com and follow the contact information there, this will route you to the appropriate team.

    • Yes - just had this problem today. Kept losing satellites, phone wasn’t connected, connect app didn’t show power, and location on map seems to have shifted 1,000m to the East. So many issues all at once.

    • was running in low battery (15%) - will charge and see if that fixes.
