Reset training status

Due to misreading from HR sensor, my max HR was automatically adjusted to 220 bpm and I did not notice it. I trained a couple of weeks (months) with this wrong value. After correcting it, training status only shows "unproductive". Manually adjusting VO2max did not help.

Can I reset training status and start from scratch with manually entered correct FTP and VO2max (from lab tersting) and then get reasonable training status information?

Thanks

Thomas

  • If you leave everything alone it will sort itself out.  It will take about 4 weeks of riding for the anomalous HR setting to be completely factored out.  The only way to reset it is to reset your device back to the factory defaults. If you do that you will have to set it up again (if you didn't back it up and restored the settings) and it will take at least a week to start providing training status info.

  • Have you tried to go into the https://connect.garmin.com/modern webbrowser. at the top righthand corner there is a watch icon which allows you to choose your device such as the 530, it takes you to the device settings, there is a tab for user setting and in there it has heart & power zones and how it calculates zones, there is a box for maximum heart rate. after saving the setting at the very bottom, I then usb plug in and sync using Garmin express, I also do this for every device.
