Garmin eating my sprint?

Hello guys,

i have the feeling edge 530 just ate my big sprint today. I had a peak value of 2077w on the second sprint, yet the values on the power curve for 2 seconds were taken from the first sprint (not as strong) was 1240w.  So, to me it's pretty logical that the second sprint should have the highest values for 2s, 5s, etc. So, i think garmnin just ate my second sprint. Now, i don't know what ate it, if the edge 530 or the vector 3.

Not the first time i had this feeling. Yes, i have the recording set to 1s. But i'm thinking i should disable the auto-zero thing as other people have said on other threads.

Thanks in advance for any ideas about this.

  • 2077 watts is very impressive. André Greipel has only hit 1900 watts. Can you analyze the fit file in one of the various programs to find out what happened to your watts.

  • That's what i thought, my previous one was around 1700, so i was kind of surprised on this (even tough i'm heavier and stronger in the gym). But that's peak power, that's not even one second, otherwise garmin would have saved it on the power curve. I'm sure Greipel did 1900 for longer.

However, after that peak, i would guess the values for 2s and longer would be higher, but aren't.  I don't know what's going on.

I already analysed the file on garmin connect, strava and cheetah, saw nothing more.

  • What I meant by analyze the file is using a fit file viewer which will show the actual numbers in a fit file in detail. There are several free versions that can be found with a simple Google search.
