Accessing training plan during an activity

Hi folks

i’ve just joined the Training Peaks free trial, created workouts and added to my calendar. It synced nicely to my garmin.

This morning it appeared when I turned on my garmin but I wanted to do a 10 minute spin before starting the workout so I pressed skip and started my activity. But then when I wanted to do it 10 minutes later I couldn’t find it. The “find a workout” option gave me options in the unit library but I couldn’t find the TP one or an option to find my training plan. When there’s no activity running the training plan is an option and it’s still in there

Does this mean that I can’t access my plan during an activity ie I would have to stop, save, find it, and start a new activity? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks

  • Yes. Once you start riding, you can't access the workout.

Better workout designs have the warmup phase of the workout ending with a lap button press, which allows you to extend things until you are sufficiently warmed up, or have reached a suitable place for intervals (eg, an open road, or the base of a hill, etc).

  • Thanks . I'm pretty sure that there's a function for that in the TP workout builder. So now i now i can make sure that is included and just do as long a warm up as suitable.

    Cheers
