This problem started after firmware update 8.20. Prior to this update I had no issues with GPS coverage and reliability. Now, any ride, road or MTB, even with fully open view of the sky, after a few minutes, I get the notification "GPS is off". More often than not, it will not reconnect on it's own. I have to go to the GPS sensor screen, turn it off then back on, and select a GPS source. It makes no difference which source is select ( GPS, GPS + GLONASS, or GPS + GALILEO ). It will then reconnect with a full bars signal strength. After a few minutes, I'll get "GPS is off" again, and I have to restart the process.
Not sure how to check my GPS chipset revision level, but I keep the device up-to-date so I think it's 4.80.
Never had this issue on these routes with multiple previous Garmin's, nor with my wife's 530.
If anyone else has had this issue, let me know, and if you have a fix I'd appreciate it. I'm going to do the standard stuff, like a full reset, reload everything, etc.
