Strava live segment not possible to choose last ride, PR, etc.

Basically my Strava live segments are working fine. My only problem is, that I can not choose most of the possible goals like PR, last ride, etc. It only shows me the KOM and the quickest of my friends. If I set a goal on Strava this will show up after the sync and I can select it as well.

When I go to the leaderboard it does show my last ride but I can not choose to chase it.

Am I doing something wrong? Any advice?

I just found out what the problem was. You need to have at least on ride of that segment set to be viewed by everyone on strava. I usually keep my rides private so therefore this was not working.

With any segment (Garmin or Strava) you can only chase the overall record or your personal best.

Unfortunately it will not show my PR. It only shows the KOM as well as the quickest of my mates.

With Garmin segments you definitely race against your own personal best. It could well be different for Strava segments.

Freeflyer82, thank you, you are awesome! Spent hours trying to figure out why PR's aren't coming through and was about to through the Edge at the wall. Thanks Garmin documentation (not). Works fine and as expected with activities visible to everyone in Strava. Note I had my activities visible to followers and that didn't seem to work either. Must be everyone.
