What is a Turn Around Alert

My Edge 530 has a What is a Turn Around Alert, seems self explanatory what it is, but can't find it in the manual.

Does someone know what this does exactly?

Is it occurring while you are riding a course? If so, it means you are off the course and should turn around to get back on the course.

It is just a simple distance based alert that you can set so if you ride out on a road it will trigger at a given distance to tell you to turn around and start heading back.
