Cannot upload an activity using the Save button when abroad

I am on holiday in Italy. after I finished an activity the usual prompt comes up asking if I want to save. confirm it.  it goes through the usual steps of showing drinks calories etc and it seems that the ride  is saved. but it is not on strava. However, I can upload it by plugging in the 530 and use Garmin Express. I could use the Save button in the UK. Any suggestions?

    Maybe auto upload has been disabled on the Edge?  I forget where there that setting is.  You can also manually upload via bluetooth connection to your phone's GC app.  That is at the bottom of the menu list where you can view the ride summary as the first option.

    If you ride to and from home, presumably it normally uploads over your home wifi network. I'm guessing you are out of range of that in Italy. Grinning

    You may need to add the wifi network of wherever you are staying to the Edge.

    Or make sure the Garmin Connect app on your phone is open, that the phone has bluetooth turned on, and you have data roaming enabled on your phone.

    Meantime, I am sooo envious of your bike holiday in Italy .....
