Updated to v8 firmware but powermeter calibration fails

3314487 Would you be able to remove this power meter and pair it again as if it were a new sensor? I do not have an immediate explanation for this error code, but the Edge will not generate error codes for power meters, they only display them.

Yes have removed the sensor from the Garmin 530 and re-paired but calibration shows same message that it's failed with error code 65535. Cranks are definitely in the correct position which is backed up by the zero offset working on the Giant App.

What value does the Giant app return when you calibrate

as i know it gives you back a "success" message, no value displayed (to the user)

No calibration value displayed just a modal window with a message that calibration was successful.

The Edge just displays the code returned by the power meter.

Is the Edge actually reporting calibration failed? 

What does Giant say about code 65535

Yep the Garmin edge 530 reports that Calibration has failed with error code 65535.
Not much out there on google for this error code.
If this means that the zero offset has to be performed by the Giant App, which appears to go through without error, then that's fine with me.
No word from Giant but the calibration did go through successfully on the 530 prior to these updates.

I think I might need to see that ANT traffic from the power meter. Let me send you a PM.

Nope still throws a Calibration failed message.
Never did on a previous version. There's not been a firmware update to the powermeter so the only thing that's changed is the Garmin 530 software version.
I can zero offset with the Giant Ride link app which seems to do the same thing as the head unit.
