Refurbished unit and map unlock

Hi all. I got a refurbished unit as warranty replacement for my bad 530. I managed to register it via garmin express for win, it prompted me for a map update, I agreed, but I only have basemap. I don't know if refurbished unit had maps installed, since I didn't use them until yesterday.

I uninstalled Express, reinstalled, but now it cannot add Edge due to servers down, it says.

I had a copy of my 1st edge so I copied maps files into new unit, but now it says "cannot unlock maps".

I don't know what to do. I live in Italy and refurbished unit was sent me by Garmin Italy.

The unit should have come with all the supported maps pre-installed. The only maps that are locked are the Trailforks map that is unlocked via using the app and the point of intertest map that needs a Garmin supplied unlock key.

I would suggest contacting Garmin support. They will need to check if the unit is correctly registered to receive map updates. It sounds like it may not be as it did not offer you the maps when using Garmin Express..

Garmin will need the serial number from the unit.

Ok, thanks. I'm on beta fw 7.23. Tomorrow I'll drop a line to Garmin support.

Ok, it seems there was a problem with Garmin Express. I tried right now and it shows 2021.10 , 8.79 gb update
