Ascent remaining totally wrong

When I create a ride on Garmin Connect or another app and then send it to my 530, the device displays 2x or 3x the acent calculated in Garmin Connect.

Example: Garmin Connect ride with 1000m ascent is shown on device as 3700m remaining and I know what I am riding and I'm definitely not doing 3700m!

How can I fix this?

I reported this to Garmin last week. They are aware of the issue.

I noticed this when i loaded a course via Connect, but it doesn't happen if you load a .fit file directly from RWGPS

Correct. GC is inserting extra data points into the course file when it creates the export file. This is the cause of the problem.

Garmin have told me they have found the issue and are working on a fix.

I had this one too...

I have imported .gpx from third application into GC, where it showed cca correct ascent.

But after transfer to watch or 830, it both seemed like showing in feet(?).

measured ascent was shown correctly - cca 1/3 of ascend remaining.

Update - Garmin rolled out a fix for this on 2021-07-01
