Speed / pace on courses over ridden by Edge ?

HI folks

I'm finding that the 530 is changing my predicted speed assumptions from courses in garmin connect, when loading up to navigate.

For example i had a course of 97Km at 27.5kph in GC ie 3.5h. I synched to the unit and the speed stayed at 27.5kph, but when it was loaded as a course to navigate, the estimated time changed from 3h30m to 4h40m. This is frustrating because i'm always time poor and i refer to the field "est. time at destination".

Any way around this please ? Or just a bug ?

    What is the Virtual Partner speed set to, (approx 20.7?)? Some users report that the VP speed is over riding the course speed while on courses.

    I cant see the setting anywhere or find online. Can you please help?

    I do know when i'm doing a workout, i can see a screen that has me ahead or behind of the VP but that's set to 26kph i think. But im not sure if this is the same as the VP for courses and i can't even find the setting anyway !

    From Home Screen>Menu>Settings>Activity Profile>[Select Profile]>Data Screens>Virtual Partner>Virtual Partner Speed

    Generally the VP Speed is in kph/mph but can also sometimes (when a course is active and started?) be a percentage (of course speed?) but it's a bit random and seems to me (and others) to frequently be the entered set speed even on a course, different also if you are doing a course in the Indoor profile on a trainer so the GPS status might also impact this . Note it therefore can be different for different profiles,

    I would prefer to always have a set speed rather than a course speed as not all route planners allow this.

    Thanks again. I had to add the VP screen back into the road profile as i had seemingly deleted it rather than hidden it (although i did have the VP triangle when navigating). I've added back in and made the speed 26kph for now. Easily changed later. It would still be better to just allow the time in the course as certain courses i'll do in a group and am around 3kph quicker.

    Update: I've just done a quick test, loading a course from the front room window. the course detail is 25kph, the VP setting is 26kph, but the pace when loaded is 23kph. Although this isn't actually riding the course. It could update once i'm rolling but this is quite annoying if it doesn't.
