Edge 530 corrupt file

Did a long ride today. The file failed to upload to any platform (garmin connect; training peaks; strava on either mac or PC). Could not even save the file to computer. I suspected corrupt FIT file and tried to upload to online FIT repair app- garmin kiesewetter.nl but when clicked on file also failed to upload. Eventually ran first aid program from mac disk utility & now the file has disappeared from the garmin activities folder & I cannot find it. Can we do anything to retrieve the file? Also have had this happen before with long rides- is there likely to be problem with the Edge 530?

Do you have any other copies of the fit file anywhere? I'm not sure why it would be gone after running the Mac utility, but see thread and answer - how do I get my activity back if I delete it?

If recovered, most likely the file could be corrupt even more so than originally. You can zip the file and insert it into your post so we can take a look - Insert >> Image/video/file >> Upload >> browse for file >> OK.

Unfortunately I tried & failed to make a copy of the file. Just got messages saying mac could not do it.

Seems odd that it should have completely disappeared. Could there be any hidden places on the garmin where it might have gone?

Are you trying to see the folders from your mac? Shutdown Garmin Express and try using Android File Transfer or similar.

Try this. Perhaps my attempts to save2021-04-25-11-55-40.fit.zip the file did work.

The recording ended abruptly and without the expected summary records. Probably data records at the end of the recording are missing.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately that file only seems to have the first 35min of the 4h ride. The rest has not saved.
