Skip a waypoint while navigating a course

Hi!

A question: sometimes a pre defined route contains an 'impossible' waypoint (e.g. blocked route, middle of a field etc.). It seems to be very difficult to tell the Edge 530 that it should skip this waypoint and focus on the next one instead.

Is this even possible?

And if not, would this not be a very simple and usefull feature?

Thanks,

Koen

  • Oh my, I hoped to hear something else entirely :( For me this renders this device half as useful as it would be, and for that price it's unacceptable.

Wishful thinking: maybe there is some undocumented mode that can be changed, from "race" to "trail" or whatever, so it can switch into a mode where it skips parts of the track if you arrived at them via different route.

  • Guess I'm a bit late to this thread but I started riding with the 530 recently and found that if I do not allow it to recalculate the route it will continue and not try to navigate me back to the missed waypoint. I actually went into the activity profil and turned off recalculating the rout entirely as I use the map to find my way if I want to skip a section.

I started riding with the 530 recently and found that if I do not allow it to recalculate the rout after missing a waypoint it will continue the track normally. If I allow the recalculation it will try to navigate me back to the missed waypoint.

I now went into the activity profile and turn off rout recalculation entirely as I never use the feature.
I mostly ride on pre planed routes and if I want to skip a section I use the map screen to get me to the where I want to join the course again.
    Works pretty well that way.
A designated function to skip to a certain waypoint would be nice though.
