crash = low training scores

Yesterday during my three hour ride my 530 crashed with three minutes left. It restarted and I resumed my ride for the last three minutes. However, it seems to have given me a training score only for the last three minutes (0.1 Aerobic, 2 Exercise Load). This really messes up my training load/score. I just chatted with Kelsey from Garmin and she said they can't adjust it, but I wanted to check here as well. TIA

  • First, I am sorry to hear about the issues you had with your device failure during your ride. I will pass along this feedback to see if there is any way in the future we can improve this experience. We of course also work to make sure that device crashes are as limited as possible, but your feedback on not being able to remedy this specific use-case is also important to us.

  • Hi,

    just to report that I got this very issue happen to me yesterday. I reached the support that suggested me to clean and reset the device. I would be ok with that as long I don't have to do it so often. And I have been doing this a LOT for one problem or another. And every time I have to reconfigure back the device. I don't have time for this!!! If someone spends money on a 450€ device would not expect features, support and reliability of a 50€ one. But, apparentely it's just me thinking like that.

    Back to the issue, to me the real problem is the device crash that makes the device so unreliable.

    My question @Garmin is: after two years of continuos firmware updates, is it normal that the device still crashes?

    When new products of this line will be release, are we likely to be left off in this situation?

    Pretty sure that I won't get a reply from them, as usual.
