Slower-than-usual satellite acquisition

For a few weeks now, my Edge 530 is taking a very long time for satellite acquisition (several minutes). This was not the case previously. I'm using my unit on a daily basis, it is connected at least once a day to my phone to sync with Garmin Connect. Furthermore, the unit should be up-to-date in terms of software (confirmed with Garmin Express. Version 7.10).

A call to the customer service center revealed, that the customer service employee is experiencing the same issue with his Edge device but did not know if Garmin is working on the issue.

My watch (Forerunner 935) only takes a few seconds for satellite acquisition in the same environmental conditions. I'm using GPS+GLONASS with both devices. A factory reset did not help. Could this be a possible degradation of the GPS-chip or something software related, like a recent firmware or GPS chipset update?

While a few minutes of waiting here and now is not a big deal, it becomes annoying if it is the case every time... and for me that's at least twice a day.

Is anybody else experiencing this?
