Cadence sensor 2 irregular cadence

I have 530 with cadence sensor two and i find that every few minutes i get a reduction in the reported cadence for around 5-10 seconds, e.g. I am at a constant 90 RPM and it reports ~65 rpm, and then returns to normal. It nearly always sits on 65 or 66rpm, its not a drop out, both my powermeter (powerpod) and 530 record the same cadence. This happens whether i have the powermeter present or not, or whether I am solo or in a bunch. Only other sensor is speed sensor 2. 

Any idea? I was thinking it might be the choice of connection Ant/BT, but beyond that I have no ideas?

    Try a new battery.  How are you connecting - ANT+ or BT?  Try both of them and see if the issue is resolved using one particular connection.

    Do you see this same drop out or reduction in any of your other sensors? Also, what bike is this mounted on/what is the crank arm length? 

    I would agree with the suggestions of trying a new battery and then changing your connection to whichever standard you are currently not using. (my personal preference is to use ANT+ whenver possible)

    No other sensors are fine. On 170mm cranks. It's mounts on a de Rosa merak evolution
