Navigation map no longer shows street names

Course navigation has stopped working properly on my Edge 530. When following a course I can see the map and my track but it no longer shows street names with turn guidance. It just says to go north / south / east / west. Under Navigation / Courses / Course Options I have "Turn Guidance" and "Off Crs. Warnings" enabled. Under the activity profile Navigation / Map / Map Information I have "AMR Standard Basemap, NR" enabled. I have synced the device successfully using Garmin Express and it's running the latest software version 7.00.

Any suggestion on how to get this working again? I would prefer to avoid doing a device reset and having to configure everything again.

Yes I reinstalled the map with a USB connection using Garmin Express and it worked. I guess the map file on the Edge 530 got corrupted or something.

Yes I reinstalled the map with a USB connection using Garmin Express and it worked. I guess the map file on the Edge 530 got corrupted or something.

There should be multiple maps supplied on the 530 and it seems like you may have enabled the global basemap which is quite useless. There should be a detailed routable map for the region where the unit was purchased and is the best one to use, assuming you are using it in that region. If not, you’ll need to install a different one.

Thanks guys for your help! I just got off the phone with garmin and it turns out that the device came with preloaded maps for Europe not maps for the United States

Easiest solution is to just move to Europe then, nicer cycling in (parts of) Europe anyway, good luck.
