Not recording distance or speed

I just bought a new Edge 530. The first time I used it was on an indoor trainer (Wahoo) linked with Zwift, worked fine. Then when I tried to take it on the road for the first time it wouldn't record speed or distance. I'm assuming it's something to do with it being set up still for indoor bike but I've changed it to outdoor road settings but it's still not working correctly.

How did you change the settings? Did you make sure it was on the road profile and had GPS lock before starting the outdoor activity?

Did you press the Start button (bottom right)? You can also set this to Prompted or to Autostart.

Default setting is set to “indoor” instead of “ride.” I don’t know how my default changed but that was the issue.
