530 Will not connect to Phone

Up till this weekend my Huawei Pro 30 Lite was connected to my 530. now it's not, and will not connect. I've tried uninstalling Connect on the phone and re-installing it; no joy. it displays the code for pairing then sits with the three blue dots first one solid second flashing and displays waiting for phone. it never gets beyond this. I've tried a samsung phone as well, same result. Obviously because the Bluetooth connection does not work i can't connect the phone to the house wifi. Any ideas

  • I am having the same issues with my 530 and my 11PRO iPhone running the latest iOS. Finally on the 3rd attempt during my ride on a break I got this process to work. Then when I get home the connect app says 530 not connected. What a pain in the *** this has been. Seems to happen all the time but when you do an upgrade like the maps or trail forks this will always fail.

  • I am also having issues with my iPhone Xs lately. It wasn’t a problem until a couple weeks ago and now I get a message from Garmin Connect that my Edge is not fully paired. I can not get it to. fully pair other than to completely remove the device from the bluetooth settings of my iPhone and re-connect it. But then I get the same error after going through the pairing process from scratch.

  • Same story here. On Friday I had to reset the bluetooth connection (forget device in both garmin and phone). Today I lost the connection between garmin and phone again.

    Garmin edge 530 (v7.0) + Iphone SE 1st gen (ios 13.7)

  • Have not been able to ride outside due to snow. This week coming looks good and I will go out again withe the updated Garmin Connect app and see what happens.

  • Some other threads from a year ago mention you NEED to have the Garmin Connect app open on your phone. Ive been having issues with the BTE (low power) connecting but not the BT. Its only an issue for me when I think Im not getting texts/calls then I get home and I have texts/calls on my phone but no Missed Notifications. Gonna try having the app open

  • Oops, meant BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy)

  • I observed the same, with/without Garmin connect App open/ (re-)activating Bluetooth, restarting device/phone, etc.. Just did not work ..
Then after a week of not connecting (and me not bothering any more), it connected again out of the blue.

It sucks when you are in a rush, eg. one wants to upload a new route and getting delayed for hours (until it is too late :) ).

But well, these things occur often and one does not appear have influence on it.

  • Well guys, at present, working ok - what I did, again! deleted Connect from the phone - turned the phone off - turned it back on. reset the Garmin (losing my settings of course)  unpaired the phone and Garmin. Installed Connect again and paired the Garmin through Connect (not using the native Bluetooth pairing of the phone) - so far so good - thanks for all the posts
