Edge 530 sync to iPhone issues

i've had mine 6 months and still has problems now and then syncing - and when it won't sync I found I just have to stop  trying. Eventualy - a day, week maybe I'll get  random message of "device found, Pair phone" and then it will sync. This is totally on Garmin end. The iPhone syncs to EVERYTHING ELSE I OWN with not problems - stereo, TV, Car, headphones, etc. Not Garmin. Constantly losing connection and then it's back to manual upload. Garmin, why on earth are you not fixing this disaster of a software bug. I'm never buying any Garmin anything again.

  • Well, in my case the iPhone syncs works very well without any problems. Maybe your device is faulty or anything other. Have you deleted the device from the iPhone and repaired it from the ground up? 

  • Yes, dozens of times, I’ve gone thru every ridiculous routine they have outlined.  Funny that no other company has such a convoluted routine just to try to connect.  When it works it’s great, and it has connected no problem for weeks on end. But once it loses connection it is nearly impossible ,to get it back. Obviously  very poor engineering by garmin.

    Yes, that's okay for Garmin. :)))
    If he does not synchronize his training plans, through his Garmin Connect application, with his own watch or cycling computer, then he was not going to use some kind of iPhone! :)))

  • I’ve never had an issue syncing to my iPhone. 
    Just to confirm, you have...

    ”forget this device” in iPhone Bluetooth settings (both Bluetooth devices, there are two)

    Delete Garmin Connect App from iPhone 

    Backup 530 and do a factory reset

  • I must admit I have no problems with sync either on iPhone. Had loads  on my android phone but none since switching. There must be a software conflict somewhere or a faulty edge unit. 

  • I have constant Bluetooth connectivity issues similar to yours.  Support was absolutely useless.  I am making the switch to wahoo or karoo.
