Cadence sensor not working when doing indoor training

Hi,

I have a Magene T300 smart trainer. I managed to connect it to Garmin 530 together with Garmin Cadence Sensor 2.

But when I ride indoor, data for cadence was not showing. How to make Edge 530 to get cadence data from cadence sensor?

I suspect that the smart trainer is sending a zero cadence value instead of reporting that it does not support cadence.

Could you post the FIT activity file for this ride and I can see where the Edge is trying to get cadence from.

I have the same problem with Magene T100 and Edge 530. Trainer, Cadence, Power connected but only show Speed, Distance & Power reading. However when I disable Power, Cadence start showing reading. Til now still don't have solution.

Hi W.Kong, you mean turn off the smart trainer?

My original post incorrectly stated FIR instead of FIT. The activity FIT file is in the Garmin\Activities folder on the Edge.

No. I just disable the Power sensors setting on Edge 530 but doing this way it only show Distance, Speed & Cadence reading, NO Power reading.

Hi all,

Good news. I managed to get data from cadence sensor.

What I did is:

remove all connection from Edge 530 to smart trainer (including power meter)
connect again using this steps:
- training
- indoor trainer
- trainer sensor
- then add your trainer
no need to connect with power sensor
now in status, you only can see cadence & smart trainer logo
when you cycling in indoor mode, you can see data for speed, power and also cadence (yay!!)

I try exactly but Power show Zero (0). What's your Edge version 7 or 6.20 ? I'm having 6.20 as Asia version. Version 7 still not available yet.
